Introducing a new feature! I Heart ♥ will be a weekly instalment, sharing with you the things that are currently making me happy along with my own associated photos. I've neglected my camera lately so this will encourage me to focus on, and snap little pieces of happiness. If I can pass on a little positivity on a Friday, then perfect. Hopefully reading these features will make you smile, laugh, feel inspired or focus on the things that make you happy.
Enjoy! ♥
Autumn is my favourite time of the year. Outside the trees shed their beautiful colours and we burrow into chunky knit scarves. Inside we begin to turn the heating on and opt to have cosy nights in surrounded by twinkling candle light. The UK has gorgeous autumn days however, Canada's are renowned for being richer in colour and colder in temperature. Every time I see a red leaf on the ground I get a little bit too excited...I'm pretty sure the leaves turned red in the UK too, although autumn seems even more spectacular here. It has also appeared out of nowhere. Last week I was wearing a summer dress with just a cardi, this week the leaves have turned golden, the temperature has dropped, the heating has been switched on and I'm wearing enough layers to brave the Arctic!
The cold air is made that much more bearable when stylishly tucked in with wool, cashmere, cotton knits and fur (faux of course). Starbucks help to reignite that fuzzy warm feeling with its autumn speciality coffees and our lunches turn into liquids (soup, not alcohol!!). Our orange stained skin from a summer spent at the beach fades to a pale, rosy glow as our nail polish of choice takes a dramatic change from the ice cream coloured pastels.
During the autumn months I become a loyal patron of the coffee shop. Comfortably positioned in an armchair, with a steaming beverage cupped in my hands, I like to sit and watch the world go by.
What do you heart this week?

What a great idea for a feature! I love autumn and this weeks been great being able to get back into my Autumn winter boots and getting the layers on! What's great is how the leaves turn in Michigan - autumn is really beautiful here.
ReplyDeleteThank Rachael :) I was really excited about this, so it's nice to hear when others like the idea too! There is something about America and its magical autumns. We've got Thanksgiving this weekend too. Autumn and Thanksgiving, what more could you ask for!
DeleteI love this post! I'm a big Starbucks fan, and I'm partial to the Pumpkin Spice Lattes when it's a bit chilly outside!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the I Love My Post Hop, and excited to be your newest follower!

ReplyDeleteThank you! Australia... I love it there! On my over to your blog to say hi! :)
DeleteAs for autumn, I heart tights and boots. And if you want to see real colours, take a trip to the interior. You have to time it right, of course, to catch peak foliage. But the interior has better conditions and better trees for fall colours.
ReplyDeleteAs for what I heart this week, having just got back from my mumbleth high school reunion, I will say that I heart my classmates, as well as the town where I didn't grow up but did go to high school.
Thanks for the tip - I'll have a look into that.
DeleteA reunion!...that's fun. I'd love my school to organise one of those.
