Life's Little Pleasures

breakfast, coffee, cup, cute, good morning

Calendars for early September cry "busy" as we all try to pencil in meetings, reminders, events or even school schedules. Whether you are back in school for the new term or at the office, we are all buckling down as the end of the year now comes at us full speed ahead.

agirlsimagination has been a little quiet the past couple of weeks. Each item on my to-do-lists have been battling for priority and unfortunately my online thoughts have had to take a step out of the limelight (although, I've been able to let my writing habit loose for Van City Vogue). In such chaotic times I find that little breathers of indulgence, inspiration or calm are enjoyed much more and taken note of. Whilst the world rushes by I have paused for a few moments to enjoy the following of my life's little pleasures:

The smell of coffee in our apartment in the mornings. Enjoying a cup with my fiance before our days get underway.

Getting lost in the library. If only my library had a cosy, hide-away like the one pictured... *dreams

Random acts in the name of art and craft that make passers by smile and take photos.

Stocking up on office supplies, pretty stationary and pens in lots and lots of colours, because one day a colleague will ask you if you have a "thin-nibbed, lilac handwriting pen?!?!!"

Feeling lucky to live close to a sunset like this, everyday. And in less than a month, this will be my nightly view!

What little pleasures do you find yourself appreciating during busy times?

  1. Like you, I've been having a really busy time of late. However, yesterday there were three things that made me smile:

    1) A random passer by shouting "I Love your basket bunting!" on my bicycle

    2) Getting caught at a red light on my bike, but then noticing someone had put a moustache sticker right in the middle of the light

    3) Sitting in my Mum's garden and watching a hot air balloon go overhead with the passengers waving to us down below

    :-)
