One of the perks to being a Vancouver Fashion Week intern was backstage access. Front of house, the energy in the room was that of anticipation and excitement. Backstage the energy was raw emotion; frantic, tense, unrestrained and passionate. For a few short minutes after each show celebration eased these emotions until the next designer sternly made their way through, followed by a train of patient models.
After Gretchen Jones' stunning presentation I made my way backstage through the rails of clothes and clouds of hairspray, to find out more about Gretchen's success since winning Season 8 of Project Runway, her advice for aspiring designers and her personal favourite from her SS13 collection.
