A 'Tuscan Retreat'

Italy is one of my favourite destinations, particularly Tuscany. I've been lucky enough to have family in Italy so we've always known where to eat, stay and shop...which is always helpful when abroad. Although, when it comes to food in Italy it is hard to find a restaurant that isn't authentic and excellent. My family live close to Barga. So we've always enjoyed beautiful holidays with them. The landscape is rich and lush. The architecture grand yet understated at the same time. A must visit destination!

I have never stayed on a resort or in a hotel when visiting Italy and I'm so glad for this. As a result, I would say I've experienced true Italian culture and hospitality. And there is no other place like it that I have ever visited.

Tuscan Retreats is run by my cousin and her husband. Her husband was born and bred in Tuscany. He knows all the little 'off the beaten track' magical restaurants and sites that you would never have found as a 'tourist'. Although, they are my family and I'm perhaps a little biased, they truly are the nicest and most welcoming family with nothing ever being too much of problem, whether you are their family or not. Although in Italy, "Everyone is Family!"
