The first week of blogging is coming to an end. Within such a short space of time the dos and don'ts of owning and writing a blog are very apparent. Google Blogger is an excellent tool for the beginning blogger, who isn't quite ready for the full control that WordPress can offer. I am very grateful for Blogger this week.
The thought of making this blog 'live' was exciting yet daunting. Feeling daunted came from worrying about what visitors might think and whether they will stop by and read or bounce along to the next one out of a million blogs readily available to digest. This worry has encouraged a great learning curve.
A Girl's Imagination is my little space in the world which I should enjoy and write what I want to write about.
Reading other people's blogs in someways is as much as a negative as it is a positive. Other bloggers have given inspiration to creating a blog. However, when sitting thinking about what to write your mind is clouded by these daily reads. You find yourself writing in a similar way or about a similar topic. Surely this is only natural as of course you want your blog to be successful and have the number of followers and site visits like they have. The learning curve has been that in order to build followers and site visits you have to forget exactly this.
Blog for yourself, because you enjoy it, because on that day you have something to share. And if people along the way like what they read and follow you, well let's just say that it is a lovely compliment and bonus.

That's very true! As long as you are staying true to yourself, you will enjoy it. There's nothing wrong with being influenced by others, but some bloggers go and copy other ones and pretend they haven't.
